18ct gold earrings have a noticeably richer colour than 9ct, since they contain more pure gold, which is part of why people choose 18ct for pieces they want to look a little more special. That extra purity does make 18ct slightly softer, so it suits earrings worn on occasion more than a pair in daily rotation. We stock 18ct gold earrings across studs, drops and a few hoop styles, hand-finished at our Birmingham workshop. The deeper tone shows up particularly well in yellow gold, less so if you're comparing white gold options side by side. For an earring with a bit more depth of colour, 18ct is worth the small trade-off in hardness.
