Kushira's 9ct Gold Ankh Ring
Kushira came in to she shop where she liked the look of one of our anchor pendants and wanted to have it designed and manufacturedinto a ring. The initial pendant size was too big to use as a guide for the size on her finger, so we took some dimentions and noted that Kushira wanted the Ankh Cross to be large enough to be noticeable and comfortable to wear.
We inititially hand cut the cross out of a 9ct Gold plate and positioned the cut out to Kushira's finger to ensure the size was what she wanted. We then modified the size to fit accordingly by filing down the edges and inner teardrop hole in the Ankh Cross to suit.
The ankh symbol sometimes referred to as the key of life or the key of the nile. It represents eternal life in Ancient Egypt. Created by Africans long ago, the ankh is said to be the first or original cross. The ankh is often shown in the hands of important Egyptian figures, such as pharaohs and kings, preserving their immortality. (Source: NPS)
